Google Sheets Integration

Connect Datarova to Google Sheets

Get all your project data into a Google Sheet that updates automatically every night. Use it to feed dashboards, pipe data into other tools, or run your own analysis on top of Datarova's data without exporting CSVs every day.

Plan availability: The Google Sheets integration is included on the new Professional, Team, and Agency plans. Compare plans and limits.

When to use this

The Google Sheets integration is most useful when you want to:

  • Build live dashboards or models in Google Sheets that pull from your Datarova data automatically

  • Reference the data from other Sheets using IMPORTRANGE so your reports stay up to date

  • Use the sheet as a staging area to pipe Datarova data into a database, warehouse, or BI tool

  • Stop manually exporting CSVs and importing them somewhere else every day

What's in the sheet

The sheet has tabs that mirror the structure of a Datarova project:

  • ASINs: every ASIN across your projects

  • Keywords: every keyword across your projects

  • Ranks: the last 28 days of keyword ranks for the primary ASIN of each project

  • Trends: the trends data from each project

Datarova refreshes the sheet automatically every night, so you'll always see data current as of the last sync.

A couple of constraints worth knowing about:

  • Ranks are limited to the primary ASIN of each project. Google Sheets has a cell limit, and projects with many ASINs would quickly blow through it. If you need ranks for all ASINs, the API is the better fit.

  • The rank history is a rolling 28 days. Each night the oldest day drops off and the newest day is added.

Connect Google Sheets

  1. Go to Settings → Connections.

  2. Find the Google Sheets card under Available Connections and click Connect.

  3. Sign in to your Google account and grant Datarova permission to create a sheet.

That's it. Datarova will create the sheet in your Google Drive and start populating it with data. The first sync may take a few minutes.

What Datarova can access

When you connect, Datarova asks for permission to create and edit a single Google Sheet in your Drive. That's the entire scope of access:

  • We cannot see any of your other documents

  • We cannot edit or delete any other documents

  • We cannot access any other folders or files

Our access is limited to the one sheet we create for you.

Open the sheet

Once connected, you can open the sheet from two places:

  • The Projects page. A Google Sheet button appears at the top of the Projects page once the integration is connected. This is the easiest way to open it day to day.

  • Settings → Connections. Under Active Connections, the Google Sheets card has a link icon next to its name. Click that to open the sheet directly.

Use the sheet

Some common ways to put the sheet to work:

  • Pull data into another Sheet with IMPORTRANGE. This lets you build dashboards or reports in your own Sheet that stay in sync as Datarova updates the source.

  • Use it as a staging area for loading into a database or BI tool. ETL tools like Fivetran or Airbyte can read directly from Google Sheets, or you can use scripts to pull from it on a schedule.

  • Add your own tabs for analysis. Any new tabs you add are left untouched by Datarova's nightly sync, so they're a safe place to build pivots, formulas, and reports on top of the data.

One important rule: don't edit, rename, or delete any of the tabs Datarova creates (ASINs, Keywords, Ranks, Trends). If you do, Datarova will recreate them on the next sync and your changes will be lost. The same applies if you delete or move the sheet itself: Datarova will create a new one. New tabs you add yourself are completely safe.

Disconnect

To disconnect the integration:

  1. Go to Settings → Connections.

  2. Under Active Connections, click the three-dot menu in the top-right of the Google Sheets card.

  3. Click Delete.

Disconnecting stops the nightly sync. The sheet itself stays in your Drive as it was at the last sync, and you can keep using it (it just won't update anymore).

When to consider the API

The Google Sheets integration covers the most common reporting needs in a low-friction way. If you find yourself running into its limits, the Datarova API is the next step. Consider the API when you:

  • Need rank history for ASINs other than the primary ASIN, or for more than 28 days

  • Want a real-time integration rather than waiting for the nightly sync

  • Need to filter or query the data programmatically rather than loading the whole dataset

  • Want to integrate Datarova data into a custom application

See the API article for setup and details.
