See how every ASIN on your project ranks for a single keyword, so you can spot who's taking the top positions and how the leaderboard shifts over time.
Plan availability: Ranks by keyword is included on all four new plans: Starter, Professional, Team, and Agency. Compare plans and limits.
When to use this
Ranks by Keyword is the inverse of Ranks by ASIN. Instead of one ASIN across all your keywords, it shows one keyword across all your ASINs. This is most useful when you want to:
Find out which competitor took your spot when your rank dropped
See which ASINs consistently dominate a high-value keyword
Spot ASINs that are gaining ground on a keyword you care about
Investigate what competitors are doing differently when they overtake you
If your rank went from position 1 to position 2 last week, this view tells you exactly which two ASINs got ahead of you and when, so you can go and look at their listing for clues.
Open Ranks by Keyword
Open your project and go to the Ranks tab.
Click Ranks by Keyword.
Pick the keyword you want to see in the dropdown at the top-left. The grid will update to show every ASIN on the project and how it has ranked for that keyword over time.
To look at a different keyword, just open the dropdown and pick another. Use the date range picker on the right to control how far back you want to look.
Read the grid
Each row is one of the ASINs on your project. Each column is a date. The number in the cell is that ASIN's rank for the selected keyword on that day. Cells are colour-coded by rank, with green for top positions and red for low positions.
A few things worth knowing:
Your primary ASIN appears at the top by default, so you can always read across to see your own rank trend.
A dash (-) means the ASIN wasn't ranking in the top 140 results for that keyword on that day.
You can re-sort by any column. Click a column header to sort by that day's ranks, which is useful for comparing where everyone stands at a particular point in time.
You can also click Edit Columns in the top-right to bring in extra context for each ASIN, like brand, price, rating, review count, latest BSR, visibility, and keywords in top 10. This is especially useful when you're investigating a competitor who outranked you, because you can see their listing fundamentals next to yours at a glance. Adding all of them at once makes the grid cramped, so pick just the two or three that matter most for the question you're trying to answer.
Tips
When your rank drops on a particular date, click that date's column header to sort. The list reorders best to worst for that day, so you can see exactly which ASIN took the top spot and how the leaderboard shifted around your move.
A long line of dashes for a competitor that suddenly starts ranking is worth investigating. They've likely just optimised their listing or started a PPC push for that keyword.
Combine this with Notes on Ranks by ASIN. If you can see when you lost rank here and what was happening via your notes, you've got the full picture of why a movement happened.
For your most important keywords, check this view weekly. Patterns over time are much easier to spot than they are from a single snapshot.
